Little projects

I am working on a couple small projects to be sold at the Mennonite Heritage Center Pennsylvania German Folk Art Sale this coming December.  Quilts are something I can't throw together at the last minute, so I have to start now.  First project is a small quilt (or maybe two) inspired by an antique crib quilt, shown in the background of the photo.  The original is not in great shape, is only tied in a few places, and has super ugly textured green 1940-1950's curtain fabric on the back.  Nevertheless, I think the colors are great and the design has a lot of potential.  The hour glass blocks in the original are roughly 3"; I am making mine 1 1/2" finished.

I am also making some six-pointed stuffed star ornaments for the sale.  They make nice, inexpensive gifts for the holiday season.

  6. I love looking at hourglass blocks, because even with different colors everywhere, when I squint my eyes, I see pinwheels! Can't imagine making one as small as yours! Last week I finished a Christmas wall hanging --- a gift to a family member. I think Santa is already packing for his trip South! ---"Love"
