Re-balance

I mentioned in my last post that I have started on a new adventure, book writing.  In order to make room for this activity, I have had to re-balance a little.  It's a good thing to do from time to time, anyway.  I have a full-time career plus two teenagers who are going through the college application process right now, so some changes are in order.  The rest has to fit in and not overwhelm.

1.  After my last craft show  a couple weeks from now, I am stepping away from that activity.  I had a lot of fun doing shows over the years, meeting customers and other crafters, but to prepare properly for shows takes a lot of time.  At first I thought I would miss it, but now I am feeling a sense of relief.

2. I have put my Etsy store "on hold".  Nothing is for sale right now though I will keep my options open for listing some items next year.

Quilts for magazines will continue.  As a mater of fact, two projects will be coming out in October--more on that later when I am able to post pictures.  Two more projects are in the works for publication next year.

  7. If it is no longer fun, it is time to stop and do what gives you pleasure and satisfaction. Best of luck with the book and I am looking forward to the new magazine patterns. Have fun, enjoy time with your boys before they head off to college and make time for yourself!

  12. It sounds like the changes are in order. Writing a book will be a big job! We are doing 2 craft shows this fall and don't know if there will be any more. It is fun, but we sometimes wonder "Why are we doing this?" Good luck with the book.
