Yesterday I spent the whole day at a quilt turning at the Germantown Historical Society in Germantown, PA, an easy 25 minute drive from my house. A gem of a museum, close to me, and yet I had never been there before. Apparently there a several historic houses to visit also.

We saw a fantastic collection of rare quilts and coverlets from the late 18th century to the mid-19th century. They provided us with a CD of images for study purposes, but unfortunately I can't share here.

My sons' prom was Friday. It was freezing cold, around 45 degrees F; I felt so bad for the girls in their dresses, but I made them pose outside for a picture anyway!
They grow up so fast! We call it a school formal here but the outfits are pretty much the same.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting post! And cute kids too! It may have been a bit cold, but those girls would never want to cover those pretty dresses with a coat, I'd bet! ---"Love"
