THE OTTOMAN EMPIRE
Fabric is 50/50 linen/cotton blend. Since I will want to wash the slipcover after it is made (for example after the cat throws up on it), I prewashed the fabric.Mound of fabric right out of the dryer.
Pressed piece.
THE PLAN
I will be doing some piping around the top and above the pleated skirt, so I need some cording for the piping. Coming soon...bias strips and making fabric covered piping.
I don't envy you one bit! I also have no doubt you will get it done well! ---"Love"
ReplyDeleteHey Ann, don't forget to wash/dry the cording if it has a high cotton content. I do it all the time when I pipe smocked dresses and around quilt borders. You don't want it to shrink drastically when you wash the slip cover.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you are documenting this for us - looking forward to the next chapters.♥
ReplyDeleteRemember, "Measure twice and cut once", unless, of course, you have plenty of extra fabric to play with, LOL.
