Besides quilts and ornaments, I thought I needed a few fall items for my show. Inspired by many blogs, especially Lori's
HomeSpunPrims, I came up with these little primitive pumpkins. They are made from antique calicos and antique white linen. The largest one is about 4.5 inches tall, not including the stem. They are stuffed, but need to lean--they don't stand up by themselves. I brought these three to show a friend at work to get her opinion and she bought them immediately. Now that's positive feedback. Guess I will make some more.
Love the colours of your pumpkins ~ Autumn is my favourite season. from Jenny McH
ReplyDeleteVery cute pumpkins you have there;) I love them;)
ReplyDeleteHappy Quilting!!
That IS positive feedback! I can see why she bought them so quickly; they are cute as can be! I bet those will do great at all your shows, especially this time of year. ---"Love"
ReplyDeleteI liked those pumpkins Lori spoke about too. Yours are really great.
ReplyDeleteYou could try a small ziplock plastic baggie of sand or rice at their bases to make them stand by themselves? I've used that idea to make a penny rug style Santa stand up. Best regards, Kate
They look super and will never rot! Ann :-)
ReplyDeleteCute! Love the fabrics.

Darling punkins Ann! Neat idea to use vintage fabrics. It was so sweet of you to mention me. Thanks bunches!
ReplyDeleteI can't tell you how many years I have been going to make some fabric pumpkins and never have yet. I like the idea of using the vintage look fabrics for them. You might try putting some sand or crushed walnut shells in the bottom for weight.
ReplyDeleteThe pumpkins are great, nice and fall-y! I love the colors, these should sell well. Hope you can make bunches!
ReplyDeletePositive reinforcement indeed! I'm sure they will be popular at the show as well.
ReplyDeletefolky and fun!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to make some of these for the autumn. I'm officially not decorating for halloween until mid-next week so that autumn can have it's own time. These are so cute!
Cute pumpkins and great colors. I might have to try these.
