No--it is fabric trimmings on the floor in the quilt lab. I have been busy, busy, busy.
The weather has cooled off, thanks to the hurricane that moved up the east coast. I should be outside but I have a lot to do. At least I have the windows open in the quilt lab and am enjoying the nice breeze. I finished two quilt tops this morning and and now I am working on ornaments for the upcoming show season. These pieces with go into Ohio Stars.
Besides sewing I spent time working on a new marketing angle for my work. My sons and I brainstormed and came up with a catch-phrase to help me describe my business to potential customers at shows. I made up new business cards and an artist statement.
So, here it is, drumroll please...
Ann Hermes Quilts...from Antique to Unique
I am going to display this little suitcase filled with antique fabrics and quilt blocks. It will also hold my business cards and display my artist statement.
I did find some time to do a little fall decorating. I love a long weekend!
Your catch-phrase is perfect and the little suitcase is a very unique way to display your cards. I love the fall colors and decorations. The fall colors have such a wonderful cozy feel.
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea! We are doing a couple craft shows this fall as well and I'm trying to get some things made up too. I have about 3 doll beds that I will make mattresses, sheets, quilts and pillows for. We buy the doll beds at garage sales and DH fixes anything on them that needs to be fixed. Love your fall decor!
ReplyDeleteYour lab looks good with the trimmings on the floor. LOL. You have been busy. Can't wait to see some of those finished.
ReplyDeleteI like your new marketing, the suitcase looks great holding the fabric and cards.
The suitcase idea is a really great way to showcase your business and I do love how you Americans really go to town on decorating for Fall.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a very productive week end. You will reap rewards I am sure. The fall decorating is delightful, such a beautiful time of year in the US . We are having lots and lots of rain as we move into spring.
ReplyDeleteI love your catch phrase. It's perfect! (And I need a "Black Cat Crossing" sign on my stairway...3 of our 5 beasties are black and one or the other of them always seems to want to weave in and out of my legs as I walk down the stairs.)
ReplyDeleteYour catch-phrase is truly "unique"! Perfect for your work!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love it when the floor is all littered with those tiny clippings and threads? Shows lots of progress! ---"Love"
What a cute idea and gets the point across very well!!
ReplyDeleteHi Ann, Your lab looks like my floor in my sewing room when I'm on a project or two!
ReplyDeleteI think your new marketing idea is great and your display of the vintage fabric is perfect!
The picture of your doll bed and quilt is adorable with your 3 "dollies" all cuddled up together! As always---thanks for sharing. Hugs, Carolyn
My floor looks just like yours most of the time, too. l for one, would definately stop at your stall when l saw that cute little display. l love your artist statement. Well done, and good luck. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect catch phrase! The suitcase will be sure to catch people's eye and is a great visual explanation of where your little quilts come from. Good luck with the upcoming show season.
ReplyDeleteI love your suitcase idea and your black cat sign. I am so ready for fall. Can't wait to see your ornaments. Connie204
ReplyDeleteMy sewing room looks like that even though I haven't been sewing. (Note to self - must vacuum). Your suitcase is terrific and will surely be a talking point! Ann :-)
ReplyDeleteI like your marketing phrase - good luck.
ReplyDeleteYou're lucky you have carpeting, I track trimings from my hardwood floor all through the upstairs and occasionally down the stairs as well, lol. :)
Great catch phrase!! I love the suitcase. My ornament is happily hanging from one of my kitchen windows :)
ReplyDeleteI love love love your quilt in the cat basket. The colors are fab! It reminds me of an antique crib quilt I saw recently. I'll have to look for some aqua fabrics. The binding is perfect.
