I love hooked rugs, but am sure I will never make one. I tried once, but went straight back to quilting. One of my favorite hooked rug artists is Annie Hayes. I have two of her rugs hanging in my quilt lab. I love her colors so much. I met her at a local show last year and she is a dear. Her website is

Very nice, my favorite is the sheep. I grew up on a farm in Illinois and I love the kinda primitive look in quilts and crafts. I will check out her web site.

I can see why you love hooked rugs, but I could never do them either! ---"Love"
ReplyDeleteI would love to learn how to hook rugs, but my time is limited, so for now I'll stick with quilting. I like both pieces. Though that sheep looks like he has stripey caterpillars crawling around in his fur...kinda gives me the willies to think about it!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the sheep!! I've never done hook rugs or looked into it. I know they have the class at country quilt works. Hmmm...add it to the too do list :) Christine
ReplyDeleteI love making hooked rugs but it does eat into the quilting time. Plus, they are way more expensive than quilting so you are a wise woman to let someone else do your rug hooking. That said, I am anxiously awaiting my latest Polly Minnick kit to arrive.
ReplyDeleteThe sheep is my favorite too. I haven't done any hooked rugs, but I am going to try one day. I have made toothbrush rugs, but mine are at the shop as samples. I'll try to take my camera to work and get a shot of them.
