I will also be doing a workshop at the Mennonite Heritage Center in Harleysville, PA, this coming October. In addition to giving my pillowcase presentation, I will facilitate a show and tell session. The museum will bring out part of its quilt collection for show and tell and participants may bring some of their own quilts to share.

Preparing for California and beyond...
If you follow the blog of Temecula Quilt Co. you have seen that I will be speaking there in April as part of my world speaking tour...well, actually, as part of my family vacation in California. I will be talking about Pennsylvania Pillowcases and Other Small Treasures. One of the other small treasures is the privy bag. I was working on the part of my talk today. I have blogged on the topic before, but here are some photos for your viewing pleasure. It may be more historically accurate to call these hanging bags, but its more fun to call them privy bags.

Have a great time Ann! I had never heard or seen one of those privy bags until Judy from the C-Stick had two of them for sale - I believe they were recently made and not old ones but they were still cool! I hope I can get to the Heritage Center to see you since it's around the corner!
ReplyDeleteInteresting fabrics in interesting little bags! Have fun on your vacation. Wish I could hear your "talk". ---"Love"
ReplyDeleteI saw on the Temucula site that you are going to be there. In fact, I knew from the photos of your quilts on their site, before I read your name, that you were going to be there. Recognized your quilts right away! Have a great time! Wish I could be there, too, it sounds like a great topic.
ReplyDeleteI saw that you were going to be at the Temucula shop. That's great! Have a great time, they will love having you there! Hope to see you in October.

Wish I could be at both engagements. Alas, Texas is just a little to far from where you are. Love the photos as usual!
ReplyDeleteI like the sounds of "privy" bag, too.
ReplyDeleteI too wish that I could hear you speak. You know so much about the history of the bags, and quilts. Enjoy.

ReplyDeleteHum, Temecula is not that far from Phoenix! I'll have to see what I can work out. It would be so fun to hear your talk.
ReplyDeleteI am so excited that you are giving your pillowcase lecture at Temecula Quilt Co.! Our guild members still talk about your "good stuff." Not sure if they mean your information or your pillowcases, but I feel very blessed that you joined us last October! Congrats!
