R-E-T-I-R-E-D

That's right-I am retired after 27 years.  I am so happy!!!  More time for quilting, quilt history research, and just relaxing.  I have been spending my first week cleaning and organizing around the house.  This book has inspired me.  I have 9 bags of clothing ready for pick-up by Purple Heart tomorrow.

I went through my antique fabrics and listed a whole bunch in my Etsy shop.

  1. Congratulations on your retirement! Enjoy. I'm going the other way, to a part-time job after 16 years as a SAHM. It's in a quilt shop though :)

  2. How funny. I just finished reading that book also. I had already pared down the clothes and had gone through quite a bit of 'stuff', but the best thing to me was that she said go by category. I am going back through some things I have already done (clothes,) then went through the books and have lately been going through the kitchen/pantry etc. Big yard sale at my house Labor Day weekend. (We have furniture items and shop items also.) Have fun during retirement - wishing you many happy stitches:)

  6. You have no idea how busy you are going to be. Retired friends of mine have busier days than they did when working! At least your time is your own. De-cluttering is definitely a trend and one that needs to happen a bit faster at my place.
