Antique Crib Quilt

I just hung this little beauty in the quilt lab.  It is a late 19th century-early 20th century Pennsylvania medallion style crib quilt.  The size is 38" x 38". Just about every calico print found in antique PA quilts can be found here.  It is machine quilted in a grid with white thread.  I count 6 borders, including the outer orange-red calico, surrounding the central star.

  1. A quilt rich in color and pattern. I can see why you love to hang it Ann. I love that you don't have to worry about matching up seams! I have never done a medallion but I may have to do one. Thanks for sharing. Hugs, Lori

  7. How cute. I had to take a second look to see the seperat borders. Such a great scrappy quilt.

Wish I could have caught your presentation at the AQS seminar, but I didn't get to attend. Maybe next year......

  9. Would a quilt like this be made from leftover fabrics from other sewing projects or is it designed like that?
