Preparing for California and beyond...

If you follow the blog of Temecula Quilt Co. you have seen that I will be speaking there in April as part of my world speaking tour...well, actually, as part of my family vacation in California.  I will be talking about Pennsylvania Pillowcases and Other Small Treasures.  One of the other small treasures is the privy bag.  I was working on the part of my talk today.  I have blogged on the topic before, but here are some photos for your viewing pleasure.  It may be more historically accurate to call these hanging bags, but its more fun to call them privy bags.

I will also be doing a workshop at the Mennonite Heritage Center in Harleysville, PA, this coming October.  In addition to giving my pillowcase presentation, I will facilitate a show and tell session.  The museum will bring out part of its quilt collection for show and tell and participants may bring some of their own quilts to share.

  1. Have a great time Ann! I had never heard or seen one of those privy bags until Judy from the C-Stick had two of them for sale - I believe they were recently made and not old ones but they were still cool! I hope I can get to the Heritage Center to see you since it's around the corner!
