The really, really, really hot weather reached the east coast today. Ouch. It's a good time to stay inside and quilt so I am starting a new project. Inspired by some recent blogs showing two color quilts, particularly blue and white, I decided I wanted to make one.
Temecula Quilt Co. has several two color quilts on their blog.
Taryn made a very pretty blue and white Ohio star a while ago. The design I picked will remain a surprise until next time. I picked out some antique fabrics to use, 3 or 4 white shirtings and 2 indigos.
I love blue and white but as I was picking out these fabrics I thought "what would the PA German quilter do if she she wanted to recreate a blue and white quilt she saw?" Certainly it wouldn't be blue and white. I picked out some more fabrics to make a second quilt, same pattern, much different color choice. It should be fun.
Ann, you have picked some beautiful fabrics and I will be interested to see the end results.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous fabrics, I can't wait to see what you are up to!
ReplyDeleteAll those fabrics are wonderful, but I really love the blues! I'll be watching for what you do with them! ---"Love"

Gorgeous fabrics, can't wait to see what you are going to do!
ReplyDeleteAnn, I love your fabric choices! You know how I am when it comes to two-color quilts, LOL. Just picked up a book on two-color quilts. One side is red & white. Flip the book and the other side is blue & white. About 22 patterns (11 each) in all. Can't wait to get started.

I love blue and white quilts! Your Penn fabric pull is wonderful too...so many choices. Stay safe in this heat...
ReplyDeleteBoth sets of fabric look great - I look forward to seeing how the two quilts come out. (And I'm wondering how impossibly small these will be...)
ReplyDeleteYou are just teasing now....LOL
ReplyDeleteLook forward to seeing what awesome quilts you have in progress now.
